Title: Maintenance Manager

Overview:  The Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining quality and production standards by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.  

Exemption: Non-Exempt; Hourly 

Requirements: 

Education: High School Diploma  

Experience:  10+ years of related experience  

Qualifications: Leadership, communication, detailed, strategic thinker, team player. Strong attention to detail.  Excellent proven communicator. A person who is a quantitative thinker, resourceful, and proactive.  Have the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment; while also being able to work as a team player.  The individual must also be able to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.  

Reports To: Director of Reliability Engineering 

Direct Reports: 5-7

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:  

  • Safety First: 

  • Observe and follow Health and Safety practices and regulations put in place at all times. 

  • Wear and maintain proper PPE as required. 

  • Participate in safety programs and training as assigned or as volunteered. 

  • Maintain safety awareness and identify opportunities to be safer.

Job Duties: 

  • Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.  

  • Provides technical support to maintenance and manufacturing personnel by training and troubleshooting.  

  • Ensures that all safety practices are followed.  

  • Interprets operational manuals, manufacturers specifications, blueprints and schematics for machinery and equipment.  

  • Provides guidance and shares knowledge on electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, machining and fabrication to department personnel.  

  • Directly supervises all employees in the Maintenance Department.  

  • Assigns and supervises daily work schedules of all department personnel.   

  • Manages the MP2 system related to work orders and purchase orders.  

  • Manages and initiates PM program and tracks results.  

  • Manages storeroom supplies related to repair and maintenance.  

  • Manages procurement activity of repair and maintenance goods and services.  

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive  maintenance requirements.  

  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting.  

  • Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering       specifications to perform required maintenance and service.  

  • Locates sources of problems by observing machinery in operation, listening for problems and using precision measuring and testing instruments.  

  • Performs and documents inspections.  

  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. 

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.  

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.  

  • Perform assigned duties as necessary from time to time. 

Frequent physical demands:  Include ability to: Sit, Walk, Talk, See, Hear, Stand, Climb (i.e. stairs), Carry objects, Push/Pull, Twist and Bend, Reach forward, Reach overhead, Squat, fine motor skills/activities, Wrist position deviation, read and write in English.   

Occasional physical demands:  

  1. Lifting Floor to Waist: 70 lbs. 

  1. Lifting Waist Level and Above: 70 lbs 

Notes: 

  • All candidates will be required to take a physical and drug test prior to hire 

  • All new employees will be required to complete the necessary ISO training within 30 days of hire 

  • All Lab, Production and Warehouse personnel will be required to obtain annual clearance of Respirator Fit Testing, Pulmonary Function Testing, and an Audiogram
